Three airports, three different trips.

Which one you land at depends on where you are staying, the size of the aircraft and the rules in force that season.

MTPMontauk

Montauk Airport

A small field near the end of the island with a short runway, best suited to turboprops and smaller aircraft headed to Montauk itself.

  • Turboprops and small aircraft
  • HTO is the usual alternative
  • Check aircraft fit early

Summer Fridays

The hour that matters.

From Memorial Day to Labor Day, Friday afternoon is the busiest time to fly east and Sunday evening the busiest way back. Aircraft and crews go first to those who book early.

  1. Thursday eveningOften the calmest way out: more aircraft to choose from and quieter ramps.
  2. Friday morningA sound compromise if the afternoon can be worked from the house.
  3. Friday afternoonThe busiest window of the week. Book well ahead and keep an hour of flexibility.
  4. Sunday eveningThe rush home. The same aircraft may be flying several groups back.
  5. Monday morningAn easy return that frees the aircraft for the week ahead.

How it works

From the city to the sand.

  1. Send the trip

Airports, day and time window, guests, bags and any dogs.

  2. We line up aircraft

Part 135 operators that fly the East End, matched to the airport that fits.

  3. You choose

Options by email, each priced all-in, with the aircraft and operator details.

  4. You fly

Sign the charter agreement, meet the crew at the private terminal, and about forty minutes later you are out east.

Safety and standards

Certificated operators, checked first.

We arrange the trip; a certificated air carrier flies it and keeps operational control of the aircraft.

  • Part 135 operators

US charter flights must be run by certificated air carriers under FAA rules for training, maintenance and operations.

  • Independent audits

ARGUS (Gold, Gold+, Platinum), Wyvern (Wingman) and IS-BAO (stages 1 to 3) audit operators’ safety programs; we tell you which ratings apply.

  • Rested crews

Federal duty and rest limits shape every schedule, including busy summer weekends.

  • Named before you pay

The operating carrier is identified in your charter agreement before you book.

Questions

Asked every summer.

The East End has its own rhythm. These are the questions that come up most.

More answers

Which airport should I fly into?

It depends on where you are staying and on the aircraft. East Hampton (HTO) suits the villages from Bridgehampton to Amagansett and Sag Harbor; Gabreski (FOK) in Westhampton Beach takes larger jets and suits the western Hamptons; Montauk (MTP) works for smaller aircraft headed to Montauk itself.

How long is the flight from New York?

About 35 to 45 minutes in the air from Teterboro, depending on the aircraft and the East End airport. Westchester is similar. Your quote shows the planned times.

Are there restrictions at East Hampton Airport?

Access rules there have changed in recent seasons, including proposals on hours and the types of operations allowed. Before you book, your advisor confirms the rules in force for your date and aircraft.

Can our dog come along?

On many aircraft, yes, with the operator’s approval. Tell us the size and breed when you request, and only aircraft that accept your dog will be quoted.

How early should we book a summer weekend?

As early as your plans allow, especially for Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings in July and August, and for the Fourth of July and Labor Day weekends, when the best-placed aircraft go first.

Do you book helicopters or seaplanes?

We quote private jets and turboprops. Helicopters and seaplanes are separate services; our guide to the three ways east explains how they compare.

What does the price include?

Quotes are all-in: flight time, positioning, airport charges, crew costs, the 7.5% federal excise tax and segment fees. Anything optional, such as catering, is listed on its own line.
